Frequently asked questions

Hosting a function at AntiquiTeas - the fine print: Thank you for considering AntiquiTeas Tearoom for your special event.  Please review the following policies and suggestions that are intended to insure that your visit with us be a delightful experience for you and your guests.

AntiquiTeas is open to the public and serving between 10:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. daily (Closed Tuesdays). We have limited seating (A total of 50) throughout 3 rooms. The Cottage Rooms are connected by a six foot wide doorway and hold 30 people comfortably. The Rose Room accommodates 20. Parties of more than 30 will be divided between the rooms for comfort and safety. Pricing begin at $22.50* per person for events. If you are planning your event during our regular business hours, we request that you invite your guests to arrive between 10:30 and 11 a.m. with a serving time of no later than 12 p.m. We regret that we cannot guarantee tables together at any other time.  If your event involves opening gifts it is necessary that they are opened before serving. There are no additional room charges or fees for larger parties if we are allowed to offer our walk-in guests the room before 1 p.m. You have the option of reserving either of the rooms for the entire afternoon or reserving “after hours” at the rate of $29.50 per person*.

We will be glad to customize your menu upon request. Please notify us of any allergies before selecting a menu.

*A $50.00 non-refundable deposit is required to secure your date. We ask for a final count of invited guests at least a day before your event. Please be advised that you will be responsible for what is ordered and prepared based on this final count. Quoted prices do not include an 8% New Hampshire Meals Tax and 18% Gratuity which will be added to your total.

Can I bring my own decorations to a function? Our tables are small and intimate and cannot accommodate centerpieces or favors. We can create a table or space for these items upon request. The serving tiers are prepared in the kitchen based on the number of guests seated at each table.  Adding to tables or moving chairs may result in confusion when serving. Please see a Manager if you would like to change the seating in any way prior to serving or provide us with a seating plan if you wish.

Can I bring my own cake to a function? We are unable to cut or serve cakes that are not purchased from a commercial bakery. We will be happy to provide a cake or special dessert for you. If you do bring in a bakery cake, a $25 cake cutting fee is applicable.

Can I bring my young child to a function at the tearoom? We respectfully request that infants and toddlers be discouraged from attending, again for their comfort and safety. We offer no children’s menu, high chairs or booster seats. Strollers and carriages are prohibited by law in the tearoom.

Do you have a dress code? We frequently receive calls asking about a dress code.  Formal is not necessary, however proper attire is very much appreciated.

What is a kitchen reservations? The kitchen prepares as many afternoon teas as are expected for the day. It is meant to limit your wait at the table as they require a lot of time to prepare. It isn’t a seating reservation however. If there is a brief wait for a table, your tea will be ready for you when a table is. Call to request a kitchen reservation if you plan to have Afternoon Tea rather than lunch.

Do you need reservations for lunch? No, reservations are not taken. You may come in any time during our serving hours 11:30 - 4:00 and order off our menu.

What is the different between Afternoon Tea and Lunch? Afternoon Tea is the three tiered serving trays that hold a variety of tea sandwiches, assorted pastries and scones, fresh fruit and savories along with a pot of tea for $20.00 per person. Lunch is what is offered off the menu daily; soups, quiches; sandwiches; salads; desserts and more. Typically a lunch is $10.95 for two items off the menu.

What accommodations do you make for larger parties? The best time for groups to be seated together would be shortly before the lunch hour begins around 11:00. You may call and advise the hostess that you will be coming as a group at that time and we will do what we can to accommodate you. We cannot guarantee seating together after 11:30.

Do you offer anything for children? We do not offer a children’s menu in the main dining rooms. We do offer a children’s afternoon tea in the Children’s Tea Parlor (for up to 5 girls) by reservation on Mondays & Thursdays at 3:30 or on Saturdays at 12:00 and 3:00 at $18.95 per person. Please call for more information. 432-7979 Ages 5+

  The Children's Tea Parlor

Are children allowed in the adult tearoom? Yes, and no. If your child is very well behaved in public, please bring the little cherub along. We love good mannered, freshly scrubbed, little angels. We are striving to create a restful environment for the enjoyment of a serene cup of tea. Energetic, boisterous, noisy children are not conducive to that goal. If you know that your child is not quite yet mature enough to sit quietly for two hours, please do not subject them to the constraints of the tearoom, or the rest of our patrons to their unruliness. We have NO CHILDREN'S MENU in the tearoom. Food from other establishments is NOT ALLOWED. We have no high chairs and we have no diaper changing facilities.

Thank you so very much and we look forward to the pleasure of your company.
